This page is dedicated to my friends and family. No, this is not an MCI commercial.
This is Sunya. She is terribly pretty, but I don't have any really good pictures of her. I was going to ask her for the picture of her at the prom, but her date looked like Rumplestiltskin. ("You couldn't guess my name, now GIVE ME THE BABY!") We've known each other for about 6 years, not counting the times we went to school together and didn't know it. (Don't ask. It was bad.) |
This is Erin. She didn't like the old picture I had of her, so I put up these two. I imagine that she'll either e-mail me a scathingly angry rebuke, or she'll hit me next time I see her at church. Oh well. You can see them while they're still up. My conditions for removal are the same: give me a better picture to put up here! |
And then there's Daniel. Dan is one of those guys that you think "Oooh, now HE'D make a good husband or boyfriend!" Not in this picture, maybe, but sure, in real life. I don't know how many girls have visited our youth group and fallen in love with this guy. In this picture, he's listening intenly to my "mom" at the beach. I wish you could see his hair. It's pretty.

This one is Sam. I hesitate to put his picture up not because he isn't my friend, but because he has certain powers of retalliation. He's done it before, hacked into my website files and changed stuff. I expect this guy here to be very rich in the years to come, with all the computer-related powers he has. He is living proof that "The geek shall inherit the earth" Sam is only seventeen, and he's already the webmaster for the second-largest-circulation-independent-newspaper in the valley, the Christian Quarterly. (Shameless Plug.)

And now we get to the friends I call the "elemental" ones. Meaning that I am easily reminded of them by things I see in nature.
This here is Michelle. I've known her since I was 11 and she was 9. I think this picture was taken a couple summers ago. (Except for the moon, I added that later.) I used to adore her hair, until she shaved it off. I guess it's still rather nice if you don't go by quantity. Michelle is sort of like a little sister to me, and I completely believe in her dream to be a lawyer someday. The moon, for some reason, reminds me of her. Don't try to read too far into that.

Another gorgeous friend, Emilee. We've known each other for less than four years, but it seems like I've known her all my life. I look up to her in a lot of ways although she is only six months older. Sometimes I have a hard time believing that she's real, because for some time everyone thought she was an angel. For a little while, anyway. Until the "freshman incident" (We won't go in to that.) Whenever I see the stars I think of Emilee, perhaps because I look up to both of them.

This guy is Kevin. He is so close to me I call him my brother. Lots of people get confused because of that, so I'll try to be clear. I am an only child. I have no natural siblings. However, I have a few friends who are like family to me, and I rarely refer to them as just friends. In Kevin's case, I almost always refer to him as my brother. (Have a look at the Page of Wonders). Any time I see the ocean or anything that reminds me of the ocean, lighthouses, beaches, seagulls, I immediately think of Kevin. This is probably because we both love the ocean so much.

Now for Jodi. Jodi is the coolest person you will ever meet, or maybe you will never meet her, but she's still cooler than anyone else. If you can think of someone who is cooler than Jodi, write me and tell me, because you're wrong. Jodi is Kevin's real sister, and I call her my sister too, I don't think she minds too much. She is married, and I am suposed to get a really great picture of them together, if Kevin would just get around to getting the enlargement. (ha ha) Any kind of blue sky reminds me of her.

You may be wondering by now why someone like me has such good-looking friends. I've often wondered that myself. Perhaps I'll put it on the Page of Wonders as an unsolved mystery.
and now, back to our SHOW...
