Shady Cove's alternative water sources:
Here are 3 alternatives, there may be more or combinationsof these.
1) Distribute sand filtered only water, (non potable) treated only where required for domestic users.
Ideal conditions :
A. Provide very cheap water for all of Shady Cove's yard irrigation and maintain running brooks (Spring, Summer, fall) through out the city on all natural water passages.
B. With wells being used primarily for domestic use, water tables will begin to rise.
C. Neighboring wells impacting neighboring wells will cease throughout Shady Cove.
D. Easements will be made available / purchased through out the city for water distribution.
E. Neighborhoods will co-operate and come together to solve their water problems.
F. Chlorine injection is accomplished with minimum complications where required for water to be conditioned for domestic use..
2) City aids and allows water districts to be formed in those areas that choose to solve their water problems.
Ideal conditions :
A. Sources of water can be purchased from local producing wells, or from the Rogue River through the city of Shady Cove's Lost Creek Dam water allocation and prorated to each formed district.
B. Distribution and costs are limited to the districts and areas with water requirements.
C. Easements will be made available / purchased through out the city and water districts for water distribution.
D. Neighborhoods will co-operate and come together to solve their water problems.
E. Chlorine injection accomplished with minimum complications where required.
3) Locate great hillside clear water springs, gravity feed to all homes!
Ideal conditions :
A. Springs are short up hill distance from Shady Cove, no pumping required.
B. Springs site and water available for purchase.
C. Easement available, to site from Shady Cove, and easements will be made available / purchased through out the city for water distribution.
D. Absolute minimum chlorine injection is applied and accomplished with minimum complications.
